「核なき世界基金」設立の趣旨

　2017年7月7日、国連において「核兵器禁止条約」が採択されことは、核兵器のない世界の実現のために、大きな希望を与える出来事でした。この「核兵器禁止条約」が、一日も早く発効し、非核化の動きを加速させることが切望されています。このような中、2019年11月24日、被爆75年を前に、ローマ教皇フランシスコが被爆地を訪問されて、「原子力の戦争目的の使用は、倫理に反します。核兵器の保有は、それ自体が倫理に反します」（広島）…「武器は膨大な出費を要し、連帯を推し進める企画や有益な作業計画を滞らせ」てしまいます（長崎）と訴えました。そして、「防衛費の一部から世界基金を創設し、貧しい人々の援助に充てる」（長崎）ように呼びかけました。

　世界の核被爆者が重要な場で被爆証言をして、「核兵器禁止条約」を発効を働きかける活動のために、資金が必要です。また、ウラン採掘に従事して被曝した労働者、マーシャル諸島やムルロア環礁での核実験の被害者への医療ケアや生活の支援にも、財源が必要です。　被爆75年・被爆地から「核なき世界」を願う声を力にして核兵器を廃絶するため、支援網（ワン・コイン・ネット）を広げて行きましょう。

Purpose of establishing the “Nuclear-Free World Foundation”

The Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons was adopted by the United Nations on July 7, 2017. It was an event that gave great hope for the realization of the world without nuclear weapons. It is eagerly hoped that this “nuclear weapons ban treaty” will come into force as soon as possible to accelerate denuclearization. Under such circumstances, on November 24, 2019, 75 years after a-bombed, Pope Francis visited the bombed area and said, “The use of nuclear power for the purpose of war is unethical. It is against ethics in itself” (Hiroshima)… “Weapons require enormous expense, and it delays plans to promote solidarity and useful work plans” (Nagasaki). He called for “creating a global fund from a part of the defense budget to help the poor” (Nagasaki).Funds are necessary for the activities of the atomic bomb survivors in the world to testify about the atomic bombs at important places and to put the “Nuclear Weapons Ban Treaty” into effect. We also need financial resources to support medical care and livelihoods of workers exposed to uranium mining and victims of nuclear tests on the Marshall Islands and Mururoa Atoll. In this 75th year after the bombing, let’s expand the supporting network (One Coin Net) in order to eliminate nuclear weapons by spreading the voices of the bombed cities asking for a “world without nuclear weapons”.
